6 Facts That Show Profhilo Is Set To Be The Next Big Thing

Like many other Hyaluronic Acid injections, Profhilo delivers an overall skin rejuvenation effect that enhances skin elasticity and quality.  And it shares the same main ingredient like other popular face fillers in Singapore, Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally-occurring polysaccharide in the body which moisturizes the skin and reinforces the hydrolipidic barrier.

Though there are some similarities, there are also several features of Profhilo that make it unique from other skinboosters and dermal fillers in the market currently – and the differences are listed below.

1. Patented technology

Profhilo does not utilize any chemical cross-linking compounds. It is developed and stabilized through a patented technology that results in Hybrid Cooperative Complexes (HCC) between low molecular weight HA (L-HA) and high molecular HA (H-HA). HCC helps to increase HA stability and produce unique physical properties such as low viscosity and low inflammatory response. This enables greater integration into the skin after being injected.

2. Highest concentration currently available

There are 32 mg of high molecular weight HA and 32 mg of low molecular weight, which gives a total of 64 mg of HA in a 2ml prefilled syringe – one of the largest concentrations of HA available globally. In comparison, Restylane comprised of 20 mg/ml. With high HA composition, this promotes a greater degree of hydration in the skin.

3. Improves skin rather than add volume

As mentioned, at the heart of Profhilo lies the unique hyaluronic acid molecule known as the Hybrid Cooperative Complex (HCC). This technology makes the treatment process and effects also differ greatly from traditional skinboosters and face filler treatments. For comparison, skinboosters are used for hydrating the skin while fillers help to replace lost volume.

Profhilo works to boost the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, stimulating the skin cells more than H-HA or L-HA alone. It also restores aged tissue through bioremodelling of the skin in the epidermis, dermis and superficial fat layers. Patients with ageing skin concerns can benefit from the significant tightening and lifting effect of Profhilo on the tissue.

4. Slow release of HA

Profhilo generally lasts in the skin for about 28 days. In this duration, 4 types of collagen and elastin are stimulated. Due to the HA hybrid complexes, L-HA is released slowly which therefore does not trigger an inflammatory response. This makes the treatment very biocompatible and low in inflammation, despite its high HA content, thus increasing patient’s comfort during and after treatment.

Over time, the results include improved skin quality and skin hydration in both the epidermis and dermis layers for a more youthful, firmer look.

5. High spreadability

It has a smoother consistency as compared to fillers, so it is able to spread out evenly under the skin to help in re-modelling skin laxity while avoiding any formation of lumps. Profhilo also does not contain additives such BBDE or Lycodine, allowing for safer, side-effect free results.

6. BAP injection technique

Injections for Profhilo are carefully mapped on the face and carried out using the bio-aesthetic points (BAP) method. BAP maps are chosen in anatomically respective areas, such as face and neck, to maximize the diffusion in the malar and sub-malar areas. With a total of 10 injections, 5 are done on each side of the face.

In a clinical study of 60 patients, it was found that the BAP technique was highly rated in satisfaction level for all patients and the physician. Through this method, it is able to lessen the risk of bruising as well as reduce occurrences of injection side redness and irritation. With Profhilo, maximum results can be achieved with less discomfort and fewer treatment sessions using BAP.

The results of Profhilo is immediate and will take up to 12 weeks for the full effects to take place. Depending on your skin laxity, 2 to 3 sessions is recommended and maintenance can be done every 6 months.

Profhilo can be used to complement other hyaluronic acid injection treatments as well and prolong the effects. If you wish to address other skin concerns, such as acne removal, you can also find other suitable treatments here.
